Vast territory

Quebec extends over more than 1,667,441 km2. It covers an area the size of Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany combined. It is bordered by the United States to the South, by New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and the Atlantic Ocean to the East, and by Ontario to the West.

Besides several urban areas, it has :

 

vast amounts of cultivated land and huge forests;
some of the most ancient mountains in the world;
marine, mining and industrial zones;
arctic regions largely unexplored.

 


 

Boundless space

 

Conquer the vast spaces of Québec and their special attractions. Do you prefer city living, but plan to escape into nature? Although Québec is large, you don't need to travel far to reach forests, lakes and mountains. And along with being close to nature, cities have plentiful green space allowing for many outdoor activities. Quebecers have managed to build their cities in the country!

 


Variety of seasons

 

Winter is a time for getting together for holidays and sports such as skiing, snowmobiling and ice-fishing.

In
spring, young and old alike visit sugar shacks where sap is transformed before their eyes into delicious maple syrup and sugar on snow.

Summer brings many festivals in all regions. It is also the ideal time for water activities and the outdoors and enjoying hiking trails and the 6,295 kilometers of bicycle paths in Québec.

In
autumn, nature is adorned in a symphony of color. This is the season for picking apples and observing snow geese.
